I had never heard of Louis Zamperini until I heard about the UNBROKEN movie coming out. My wife bought the book for me for Christmas. I started reading it on Thursday and finished it on Monday - it was incredible as well as gut wrenching. A week later we went to see the movie - it was really only cliff notes of the book, but it was powerful. If you haven't seen the movie (or read the book), I strongly recommend that you do! Here are 10 reasons:
1) It's a classic underdog story. 2) It's an inspiring story of determination and strength. 3) It's a mind blowing story of survival. 5) It's an horrifying picture of realities of war and suffering. 6) It's an incredible reminder of the sacrifices that so many made. 7) It's a window into another time and world. 8) It's a testimony of the power of perseverance and endurance. 9) It has a great "rest of the story" that you can read in the book or see here. 10) It's a great story of redemption. So, go watch it! And read the book too. The book is amazing.
